A cost effective tool which allows you to merge your document with company letterhead, reducing the need for pre-printed stationery. Forms overlay can also save a lot of time when printing a mailshot, for example, the letter can be stored as a form directly on the printer.
The Overlay function operates differently in the PCL driver and the PostScript driver:
- Create the Overlay
- Open the file to be used for the overlay, then select the "Create Overlay" check box in the printer driver.
- Specify the page of the file that you want to use as the overlay, and then choose Print.
- The Create Overlay File dialog box opens.
- Specify the destination folder of the overlay file being created, and then enter a file name and overlay name.
- Click the Save button.
- Print the Overlay
- Select the overlay to use from the Overlay list.
- Specify the following settings if necessary.
- Pages: Specify the pages on which to print
the overlay.
- Placement: Specify how the overlay should be
placed on the printed pages.
- Choose Print in your application.
- "Download" the Overlay to the Printer
- Click the "Download Manager" button in the printer driver.
- In the Download Manager, specify the overlay to download and the desired destination printer, and then execute the download.
- Print the Overlay
- Click the "Browse Files" button to add the overlay you want to use to the Overlay list.
- Select the overlay to use from the Overlay list.
- Specify the following setting if necessary:
- Pages: Specify the pages on which to print the overlay.
- With the PostScript driver, the overlay is printed on top of the document image.
- Choose Print in your application.
