Emperon is the next generation of printing system architecture. It's designed for perfect integration, compatibility and leadership in printer and MFP printing functionality and performance.
The basic Emperon functions include receiving and queuing print jobs in the form of PDLs (printer description language) such as PCL and PS, outputting jobs to the print engine, interpreting and rasterizing print jobs (PCL or PS) into bitmap data.
Emperon also provides colour matching capabilities (=CMM; conversion to RGB or CMYK to CYMK) and the ability to generate halftones. Emperon is unique in that it is capable of Contone Printing on PCL.
Konica Minolta's Emperon development shows that we are not only a first class producer of high-quality devices, but also a first class producer of high-quality software.
